Colin Robinson Retains Total Combat Title

Colin Robinson tuned up for his next UFC fight by defending his Total Combat title at the weekend. Robinson knocked out Colin Sexton in the first round of their British Heavyweight title match at Total Combat 22.
Colin Robinson is due to fight Antoni Hardonk at UFC 80: Rapid Fire. In his previous Ultimate Fighting Championship appearance, Robinson lost out to Eddie Sanchez at UFC 72: Victory in Belfast. UFC 80: Rapid Fire is to be held on 19 January 2008 at the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle. The event is headlined by the Interim Lightweight title fight between BJ Penn and Joe Stevenson.
Robinson will be hoping to continue his run of success in the North East of England. As well as being the Total Combat champion, Robinson is also the Strike and Submit champion. After defeating David Wilson at Strike and Submit 2 to retain his title; Robinson stated that he intended to continue to defend his belts even though he had signed a UFC contract. |
