"It's a great honor to to fight for the Ring Of Fire belt. The event has a great reputation and has produced great champions. As far as my opponent Carwin goes, I think it's going to be a good fight. He's a wrestler, I'm a wrestler. He's big for a heavyweight, I'm big for a heavyweight. Our fighting style is the same so I think it is going to come down to who has the better stand up skills. I think my striking is better so I wouldn't be surprised if I end it by K.O. If not then I see a long hard battle fought by two strong guys which is what you want to see for a title match. I know the fans will enjoy it! "
"I am taking this fight very seriously. I am extremely excited for the chance to fight for the ROF belt and to face a UFC veteran at the same time. I think Sherman could be my toughest opponent yet so I have really stepped up my training. I know he comes from a good camp now, but I train with the best guys in Colorado. I have worked with a world class boxing coach and I am ready to let my hands go! I want the belt and I also want to perform well for the fans and I want to keep my undefeated record intact. I am in great shape and am 100% physically. I can't wait!"
