Rashad: I Want Forrest Griffin

Rashad Evans has a new man in his sights following his victory over Michael Bisping at UFC 78: Validation. He wants to fight Forrest Griffin.
Evans was expecting to face Tito Ortiz at UFC 78: Validation, but contract issues prevented the match from going ahead. Evans now thinks the chances of him and Ortiz fighting again are remote. After beating Bisping, he said the press:
“If the fight happens, it happens. I mean Tito is super Hollywood now. He’s doing the Apprentice. It really doesn’t seem like it would be the same to fight him anymore.”
“I want to fight somebody else now – like Forrest Griffin.”
Like Rashad Evans and Michael Bisping, Forrest Griffin is a former season winner on the reality television show - The Ultimate Fighter. His points victory over Stephan Bonnar at The Ultimate Fighter Season 1 Finale is considered by many to be one of the greatest ever MMA fights. In his last fight, he established himself as a contender for the Light Heavyweight title by defeating Mauricio Rua at UFC 76: Knockout. |
