Riddick Bowe Signs MMA Contract

One of the greatest heavyweight boxers of his generation is going to try his hand at Mixed Martial Arts. Xcess Entertainment have signed Riddick Bowe.
The former two time champ told MSN:
“I’ve got to make a living for my family. If Evander Holyfield can fight so can I. I just turned 40.”
Bowe went on to say he feels he has the tools to do well in the cage:
“I got these two fast hands. If I touch you with these someone is going out quick.”
“We have Riddick Bowe training with Mark Kerr in Los Angeles,” Bruce Valachi, CEO of Xcess Fighting told MSN. “He should learn a lot from Kerr.”
Bowe is by far the biggest boxing name to switch to MMA. He was a genuine champion and his battles with Evander Holyfield were some of the most memorable Heavyweight fights of the 1990s. These glory days are a distant memory for Bowe. He was kicked out the US Marine Corps after his first retirement for being unable to keep up with the physical demands of basic training. He returned to boxing in 2004 and looked sluggish and overweight as he recorded wins against low ranked opposition. |
