Cage Fight Series Event Mysteriously Cancelled On the Day
Date submitted: 12 November 2007
Author: Tom Parkes

It seems that the Cage Fight Series event, which was to be held over the weekend, was cancelled at the very last minute - despite the fact that the fighters were there, the medic, referee's etc. The event was all-set but got pulled on the day for reasons which are yet to be revealed.

Here is an official statement from one of the events Promoters, Tom Tailford, as posted on cagewarriors.com:

"Right guys... I can't give loads of clarity, but for those involved we are very sorry.

Ian Dean / Ian Freeman / Grant Waterman can all confirm that something has happened beyond mine and Stuart's control.

We will explain in good time, no need to speculate - the truth will come out.

Thanks Ian Dean, Machine, Ref, Marchant, Fighters, Medics, Coaches, Angrrr Paul from FX3, Rob Nutley, Andy from Evolution, Matt from Fightsport.... I can't thank enough people (too many to list!!), you have really been very supportive and it means a lot to me and Stuart."

What exactly it is that caused the event to be cancelled will seemingly just have to wait. But why the Promoters are unable to say why remains to be seen - after all there will be a lot of disappointed fighters out there, as well as spectators and officials.

A suspicious-looking Email was received from the Promoters Email address this morning, however it seems that the Email may not be genuine, as Tom Tailford clarifies:

"Would just like to say that if anyone receives any dodgy emails from either mine or Stuarts email addresses that we have been hacked. Everything will come to the surface in good time."

And for those wishing to read the actual Email in question, it is below. Please bear Tom Tailford's claim in mind when reading it - as it does seem slightly malicious in nature (adding weight to the claim that the Email account could indeed have been "hacked"), as well as being written by someone who clearly does not own a dictionary:

"To the editor. the ipswich fight night was canceled by tom tailford and stuart chase, who have conned there way in to the mma fight scene. there investors pulled out on the night of the fight due to tom and stuarts misconduct of buisness, they let the whole of the mma world down, fighters, refs,mc, and worst of all the fans. they are a discrace to the mma world and should be boycotted and not allowed to be involved in a proffesional sport.i stongley advise you and all others to stay clear  of tom and stuart as there will be massive investigations into there actions"

The plot thickens, and the event Promoters need to get this situation cleared up and explained in full as quickly as possible. We'll keep you posted!
