Gina Carano is teaming up with an American football legend to promote healthy living.
EliteXC, ProElite, Inc.’s live events division, today announced it has entered into a partnership with HOPSports and NUI to bring multimedia physical-activity training systems to school districts and youth community sites across the nation.
Football icon and role model, Herschel Walker, and mixed martial arts phenom, Gina Carano, will host an educational workout video produced by HOPSports that will take youth-oriented audiences through a training system that incorporates a range of self defense and mixed martial arts exercises to further encourage health and fitness. In addition, NUI, a “healthy kids lifestyle” brand, will integrate nutritional advice throughout the program.
“Good habits start at an early age when it comes to health and fitness, and we are thrilled to work with two companies that are making a positive difference in the lives of children and young adults across the country,” said Douglas DeLuca, chief executive officer of Los Angeles-based ProElite, Inc. “Physical education should stimulate the minds of our youth, and this program does just that by entertaining and educating at the same time.”
“ProElite and NUI share our core educational values, which is one of the reasons why we chose to include self-defense and mixed martial arts circuits, along with nutritional advice in our training package,” said Tom Root, chief executive officer of HOPSports, Inc. “With Herschel Walker and Gina Carano hosting this segment, we are certain that audiences will resonate with the program and receive the necessary motivation and encouragement to lead a healthy lifestyle.”
“We are excited to work with EliteXC and HOPSports, the progressive leader in physical education, who is making gym class fun and effective,” said Brian Machovina, president of NUI. “In addition to being huge fans of MMA and the respect, discipline, and sportsmanship that EliteXC exemplifies, NUI is thrilled to work with EliteXC on this youth project that is empowering children with confidence, self-esteem, physical fitness and nutrition.”
