Art of War Announce Next Event Card

The up and coming Art of War promotion have announced the card for their next event.
Art of War 4: Mississippi Mayhem takes place this Saturday, October 27, at Harrah’s Grand Casino, in Tunica, Mississippi.
In both the main event and co-main event, the big boys are featured.
The main event, a heavyweight bout, Matt Thomas of Memphis, against Mike Wessel of Arkansas. Both men weigh about 250 pounds.
Thomas trains out of the Midsouth Fight Club. Wessel has been the strength and conditioning coach for the Arkansas Razorbacks.
The co-main event features two super heavyweights who both may make their mark on the international MMA scene.
The undefeated 280-pound Shane Carwin from Greeley, Colorado, fights 290-pound Tex Richards. While both are relatively new to the mixed martial arts, they each have impressive athletic credentials.
Carwin was a 1999 NCAA Division II wrestling champion at heavyweight at Western State College in Gunnison, CO. He is a protégé of MMA star Ron Waterman.
Richards was a collegiate football star at Texas Tech University, starting more career games (40) than any other offensive lineman in that school's history. Richards also played for the San Jose SaberCats of the Arena Football League and was on the practice squad of the Indianapolis Colts of the NFL. He is now focusing on MMA. |
