Wesley Correira is out. Dan Bobish is in.
No matter the opponent, Aleksander Emelianenko plans to get the win Oct. 19 on the Calgary-hosted Hardcore Fighting Championships (19 Oct 2007) card.
Emelianenko now faces Bobish in the main event after Correira was scratched from the card yesterday.
Hardcore's Title Wave is set to rock the Stampede Corral, with Calgarians able to win tickets - including four front-row ducats -- by entering online at www.calgarysun.com.
As for Bobish, a 330-lb. veteran of Pride and the Ultimate Fighting Championship, he plans on upsetting the favoured Emelianenko on fight night.
"I see this as a huge stepping stone for me," said Bobish, who boasts an 8-1 record in his last nine fights.
"I accept and look forward to the challenge."
Emelianenko, a.k.a. the Grim Reaper, is 11-3 as a mixed martial arts fighter.
He is a two-time Russian national Sambo champion and the younger brother of Fedor Emelianenko. Fedor is the current heavyweight champion in Pride and the No. 1 ranked heavyweight in the world.
Rumour has it Fedor plans to be in attendance for the card at the Corral.
