"Cro Cop" Fought with Broken Rib

In an interview with a Croatian news website Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic revealed that he broke a rib in the first round of his fight with Cheick Kongo at UFC 75: Champion vs Champion.
“What can I say, I'm very disappointed,” said the Croatian heavyweight, “I broke a rib already in the first round, so I was breathing heavily, I also got two knees in the groin, which hurt my stamina.”
“Cro Cop”, who lost the bout by decision, was at his most aggressive in the first round, stalking the less experienced Kongo in the ring, before becoming passive in the latter two rounds on his way to the loss. |
