Kultar Gill Out of Hero's

Kultar "Black Mamba" Gill has withdrawn from his September 17th bout against Caol Uno at the Hero's 2007 (17 Sep 2007) tournament. The bout was to have been one of the tournament semi-finals as Gill had defeated Hideo Tokoro in the first round in July.
Gill, who has injured his shoulder and neck, has yet to meet with doctors to determine whether surgery will be needed. Gill and Uno had met in the ring before, Uno winning by submission at Hero’s 6 last year. Gill, however, predicted a different outcome this time round, “I finally took off two months from work to train for the first time in my life. I was on a roll and was training super-hard for Caol Uno,” says Gill.
“My jiu-jitsu had improved tenfold. Training with Jose "Pele" Landi Jons has been awesome. I finally have a guy that can strike with me who I don’t knock out. We’ve had some wars. I was looking and feeling so good but now I can’t lift my arm over my shoulder. I can’t even do one push-up. But, you know, it happens.” |
