Mark Weir Out of Cage Rage 23

Mark Weir has pulled out of his Cage Rage 23: Unbelievable fight against Paul Daley, who will instead face Ryo Chonan for the World Cage Rage Welterweight title on September 22nd.

After criticism that Daley, a British fan favourite and very talented fighter, was not progressing his career with his fight against the 40 year old Weir, the bout against Chonan will be seen as a very positive step for the British fighter.

Chonan comes into the bout on the back of 2 wins for the Japanese promotion DEEP and, having been in the ring with some big name fighters like WEC champion Paulo Filho, PRIDE champion Dan Henderson and Carlos Newton, brings a wealth of experience that could really test Daley.

Weir injured himself fighting Nick Thompson for the new series of Bodog, the outcome of the bout was not disclosed.
