Sobral Fined $25,000

Following his win over David Heath at UFC 74: Respect, Renato "Babalu" Sobral, the former Light Heavyweight title challenger, has had $25,000 withheld from his purse for the fight for “excessive rudeness”.
This refers to “Babalu” continuing to hold the choke on Heath after Heath had tapped until Heath became unconscious.
Sobral says Heath called him a bad name, and to teach him respect him choked him out.
Heath’s tap was visible to everyone in the arena, and Sobral’s continued choke did not go down well with the fans, and he was booed as he left the ring. |
