Saturday 18th August, will see the return of Cage Rage Contenders 6 for its sixth outing and in much the same way that the Wembley show is growing at an amazing rate, so to is Cage Rage Contenders at it’s new home, the Troxy, in the Heart of East London.
This time Cage Rage have pulled out all the stops to bring you some great bouts, including the evenings main even, between late replacement Vaughn Harvey and crowd favorite, Brad "One Punch" Pickett. This will be a featherweight war, as both men are almost even in the number of bouts they have had.
The night’s Main event
Featherweight fight
Vaughn Harvey Vs Brad "One Punch" Pickett
These two fighters are almost evenly matched in the amount of bouts they have fought and now it is time for one man to shine above the other. Vaughn is currently on a seven fight winning streak and his confidence will be at an all time high as he enters the ring to face his toughest opponent to date. Brad Pickett will be looking to return to winning ways in this fight after a recent loss to Hideo Tokoro at K-1: Dynamite USA, Brad is a huge fan favorite that packs a huge punch and recently said in an interview. “I have heard that Vaughn has wanted to fight me for a long time, all I can say to that is be careful what you wish for”.
Middleweight fight
Leo Negao Vs Matt Ewin
These two men are no strangers to the sights and sounds of an event as both men are veterans of mixed martial arts, but only Matt Ewin is a veteran of Cage Rage. Matt has fought and beaten some of the toughest fighters on the planet. Matt has the ability to fight at all ranges and is truly a World class fighter, his opponent and Cage Rage Contenders debutant Leo Negao has an extraordinary CV of his own as he has earned a BJJ blackbelt. Leo has also fought and beaten some of the worlds top fighters and was reigning Brazilian Vale Tudo champ in the late 1990’s and now he is here to make his mark on the UK scene and will be looking for a victory over his fellow fighter.
Middleweight fight
Jake Bostwick Vs John Maguire
This will be the much anticipated bout between two very tough Contenders, Jake and John first met at Cage Rage Contenders five where a controversial ending saw John win the decision and Jake wants to revenge his loss in style with an emphatic display. Last time these two fought it was a very exciting and technical bout between two very tough and up and coming fighters and my prediction is that you can expect some more of the same.
Heavyweight fight
Kev Sims Vs Mark Buchanan
The heavyweights collide as Cage Rage veteran Mark Buchanan steps in to the cage to face Kev Sims. Mark is a hard hitter who has spent a lot of his time training for this fight brushing up on his Jujitsu, so now he will be stepping in to face Kev a much better and well rounded fighter. Kev Sims is a cage rage debutant that will not be bothered in the slightest as he also hits very hard and has the ability to finish the fight early, so one question remains? Will the Cannon be able to blow Sims away or when the smoke clears will he be the last man standing.
