Nick Diaz Returns

Nick Diaz will return to action with a fight against Mike Aina on the ProElite card in Hawaii on September 15th. The fight be part of a showdown between teams selected by BJ Penn and Cesar Gracie, with Diaz representing Gracie.
This is Nick Diaz's first fight since his victory over Takanori Gomi at Pride 33: The Second Coming in February, in Las Vegas. Diaz subsequently tested positive for Delta-9-THC (found in marijuana) and was suspended for 6 months by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. In addition to the suspension and a fine ($3,000), the NSAC also ruled that the result of the Diaz vs. Gomi contest be changed from a victory for Diaz to a result of no contest. |
