Filho Dominant in Return to Cage

At World Extreme Cagefighting 29: Condit vs. Larson, We had one champion hold onto his title, and another newly crowned. Paulo Filho, reckoned by many to be amongst the top middleweight's in the world, looked dominant in his first fight since 2006, with a stoppage victory due to ground and pound over UFC veteran Joe Doerksen.
The fight was for the vacant WEC middleweight title and was stopped in favour of the former Pride fighter in round one by John McCarthy.
Also winning in round one was WEC welterweight champion Carlos Condit, 17-4 going into the fight, retained his belt by armbar against Brock Larson, now 22-2, after just 2 minutes and 21 seconds. |
