Alistair Overeem Signs with Hero's

Dutch fighting legend Alistair Overeem has signed a contract with Japanese MMA giant HERO'S for a minimum of three fights, it was confirmed today.
Alistair, fresh from his Guillotine Choke 1st round win over Michael Knaap on Saturday evening at the K-1: World Grand Prix 2007 Amsterdam, is delighted to be working with the HERO'S group and to be able to fight in Japan again since Pride ended there several months ago when taken over by the UFC.
HERO'S is the fastest expanding MMA event in the World and is currently surpassed in popularity only by the UFC, something that HERO'S are working tirelessly to change. HERO'S currently get 10,000 - 15,000 spectators to every event, so they are close on the tail of the UFC who draw typical numbers of 13,000 - 17,000.
HERO'S are securing many of the worlds best fighters, to ensure that they can dominate the global Mixed Martial Arts industry. Not only are they able to feed off of the massive array on International A-Class fighters from K-1 (which is run by the same organisers, FEG) such as Bob Sapp, Jerome Le Banner, Peter Aerts, Choi Hong Man and so on, but they have also been quickly securing some of the best fighters for their events, including Kazushi Sakuraba, Royce Gracie and now their latest addition Alistair Overeem.
This could lead to some amazing potential matches for Alistair over the coming months. Alistair Overeem vs Bob Sapp/Royce Gracie/Kazushi Sakuraba/Peter Aerts/Jerome Le Banner anybody? I'm there!!! |
