MMA Bigshow: Domination Overtakes Cincinnati Gardens

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) hits town in a big way this weekend when MMA Bigshow: Domination comes to town. According to promoter and former fighter Jason Appleton, it's the biggest such event Cincinnati has ever hosted.
Domination is an encore of an MMA show last year at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center that drew a near sell-out crowd of 3,000.
So Appleton moved it to Cincinnati Gardens, where he has 10,000 seats and expects to sell at least 6,000.
That shouldn't be difficult, with MMA all over TV and with the kind of card he's offering - at least 15 matches where the rules are, uh, flexible. Meaning fighters use all forms of martial arts and only a few things are off limits (such as eye-gouging).
Featured match, the last of the evening, is Solomon Hutcherson versus Anthony Trotter, but several others look promising, especially Dennis Davis versus Fred Leavy.
MMA Bigshow: Domination, 6 p.m. Saturday, Cincinnati Gardens, 2250 Seymour Ave., Roselawn, $36-$46 at Ticketmaster outlets or the door. 513-562-4949.
