In their first meeting seven years ago, Kazushi Sakuraba went 90 minutes with getting the win over Brazilian jiu-jitsu guru Royce Gracie.

This time Gracie needed only 15 minutes to get the win via unanimous decision at K-1: Dynamite USA at the Coliseum on Saturday.

The methodical and legendary fighters fought a primarily cautious bout but the quicker Gracie was able to keep Sakuraba at bay with kicks to the legs and head, but more importantly he was able to stay away from the more powerful fighter's strikes.

When Sakuraba threatened, Gracie (14-3-3) took the fight to the ground and effectively land kicks to Sakuraba's legs throughout all three rounds.

In the final two rounds, Gracie appeared close to applying submissions but the stronger Sakuraba (21-10-1) was able to fight off the kimura and triangle choke.

With the win, Gracie avenges four victories Sakuraba had collected over the Gracie Family.
