Zuffa Buy Pride: The Final Word

Don’t know about you, but we are getting a bit bored of all the “UFC Buy Pride” rumours.

We are now having extreme difficulty differentiating between what is Fact, Rumour, Speculation, Pure Guesswork or Propaganda.

So here’s the deal. This is the last we are going to publish on the matter until we hear something from a bona fide official source:

According to several connected and well respected North American MMA Journalists, Pride President Nobuyuki Sakakibara has informed Pride’s U.S.A. office that the sale of Pride FC to Zuffa LLC is imminent and if the deal is signed he would have to step down to make way for the new owners, Lorenzo and Frank Fertitta.

Sakakibara reportedly told the team that his position as Pride CEO would be the only casualty of the take-over by the owners of the UFC, and Pride Fighting Championships will continue to run as a separate entity.
