Both Emelianenko brothers have come in off sterling performances against their opponents at Pride: Shockwave 2005.


Fedor smashed the son of legendary Brazilian Vale Tudo fighter Rei Zulu in only twenty six seconds. Aleksander played the Polish Judoka Pawel Nastula at his own game, and still came out on top.


In a post event interview Aleksander Emelianenko was asked.



You're on a winning streak. Do you think you're going to have to start thinking about fighting your brother?

I think I will fight my brother in the Grand Prix, after his hand is healed. I've fought him three times before in Sambo matches. I think that the time for us to fight in PRIDE has finally arrived.



Fedor won all three of the above mentioned Sambo matched by submission but in Fedor’s own words:


That was two years ago so I don't know what would happen if we fought now.
