TKO 29: Repercussion
Date submitted: 01 March 2007
Author: TKO
(MONTREAL, CANADA) February 28th, 2007 - TKO MAJOR LEAGUE MMA is thrilled to announce its third visit to the Montreal Bell Centre on June 1st, 2007!  Things just keep getting better for Canadian MMA and TKO is at the forefront of it all.  This event will once again raise the bar for MMA to heights fans could only have dreamed of not too long ago!  In the main event, Jonathan Goulet will finally get his opportunity at the vacated Welterweight Championship as he squares off against Steve Vigneault.  And just in case that wasn’t enough for the diehard fans, TKO 29 will also feature the return of the “Predator”, Patrick Cote and the professional debut of hard-nosed hitter Steve Bosse!

Jonathan Goulet versus Steve Vigneault is a fight that the country has been dying to see! They are two pioneers of the sport who have great respect for one another.  Goulet has been deserving of a title shot for years and Vigneault is a former TKO Light Heavyweight and Middleweight champion who is looking to wear gold for an unprecedented third time!  Each fighter knows that this is a tremendous opportunity for their career.  Goulet is looking to make his way back to the UFC while Vigneault is hoping to end his career on a high note.

Patrick Cote has become a mega star after going undefeated in the most recent Ultimate Fighter reality show on SPIKE TV in Las Vegas!  He is also coming off an impressive win over Scott Smith at UFC 67: All or Nothing.  On June 1st he will return to fight in front of his legion of home town fans!  Cote is telling the judges to have a coffee break during this fight as he plans on putting whomever TKO puts in front of him to sleep!

Steve Bosse is set to make his much anticipated debut in TKO’s Heavyweight Division!  Bosse is a massively popular hockey player from the North American Hockey League where he has earned to title of the top fighter in the league with dominant KO wins against the likes of Jon Mirasty, Dean Mayrand, Sean McMorrow and Jacques Dube.  But, the secret most people do not know about Bosse is that he is a trained boxer and an all around phenomenal athlete!  He promises to take the Heavyweight division by storm, starting with David Fraser at TKO 29!

Chris Clements has been guaranteed a title shot at the winner of Goulet versus Vigneault if he can get by one more opponent.  However, TKO doesn’t plan on making it easy for him!  Clements will be in the fight of his life on June 1st against an opponent to be announced shortly.

Stephane Dube intends on continuing his path of destruction on his way to a coveted title shot.  At the age of 41 Dube may be considered the Randy Couture of Canadian MMA!  After his impressive victory at TKO 28 he announced that it was “now or never” for him to get a chance at Sam Stout’s World Lightweight Championship!
