Return of the Samurai Cancelled!

Godfather of UK-MMA and one of the UK’s most experienced fighters, Lee Hasdell  unexpectedly cancelled his event ‘Return of the Samurai.’ Hasdell’s Night of the Samurai events were some of the first MMA events to ever take place in England. The shows have not run since 2001 so the UK fans were looking forward to the return of the classic ‘Old Skool’ event.

Rings veteran Lee Hasdell made the following statement:

“Just been informed that the COMBAT PLUS 9th Oct 05 Event will NOT go ahead as the Empire Venue has been shut down (licensing issues) They have cancelled ALL events.

Please DO NOT buy any tickets.... I have just paid for all the posters & flyers etc.... Let this be a warning to any wanna be promoter, its a risky business!

SORRY to all and any fighter who was booked to fight... just lucky it was not a few days before event.

I will try my best to contact as many people involved ASAP, but please understand if I miss anyone out.

Once again SORRY, SORRY & SORRY.”
