Law Suit Leaves Shamrock vs Gracie in Doubt

Strikeforce’s Parent Company, West Coast Production, claim to have secured a restraining order which will prevent Frank Shamrock from starring at Elite Xtreme Combat ’s inaugural event.
The grounds for the restraining order come from Shamrock being contractually bound to Strikeforce, whom he will be fighting for in April. Shamrock, who is scheduled to fight Renzo Gracie, does not deny that he has a contract with Strikeforce but maintains that he has a good business relationship with Strikeforce and doesn’t believe his contract will prevent him from fighting on both shows.
Strikeforce are rumoured to be seeking compensation to the tune of two million dollars if they allow Shamrock to appear on the Elite XC/Showtime bill. Elite XC, were quick to brush this matter off and said Shamrock was most definitely fighting on the event, and should the unexpected happen they do have a last minute replacement. With legal proceedings reaching a head, the two companies have been given until February 5th to come to an amicable agreement, or else face the Court in California. |
