Akiyama’s Punishment

Such was the backlash from Japanese MMA fans and the media over “Eczema-Gate”, not to mention the unsolved mystery of Yoshihiro Akiyama’s strange distended right glove that he wore in the ring against Kazushi Sakuraba, K-1 has deemed it appropriate to suspend the Hero’s Light-Heavyweight Grand Prix Champion.
Despite the organisation saying that they accepted he used the oil based cream to treat a dry skin complaint and not to break the rules; K-1’s Sadaharu Tanigawa announced that the organisation has now indefinitely suspended Yoshihiro Akiyama for breaking the rules. |
