The Grapevine: A Loophole in Fedor's Contract?

Today, the headlines are full with news that the man held to be perhaps the greatest fighter in the world, Fedor Emelianenko has re-signed with Pride FC. This quote from Fedor was posted on the official Pride fan site today: "I am happy to continue my career in Pride and look forward to adding to my unbeaten streak as champion. Pride features the world's best fighters and I only look to fight the very best competition." This is great news for all Pride fans, however more than one source is hinting at the following… Although this contract will keep Fedor in Pride’s ring in the short term, it is believed that the terms of his contract have been dramatically relaxed and will allow him to fight on other shows, if it does not conflict with his Pride FC schedule. It doesn’t stop there, it has been rumoured that Fedor’s management are currently in talks with an American MMA organisation. |
