French Fighter Matthias Riccio Stabbed

Cage Rage and Shooto veteran Matthias "The Fire" Riccio was stabbed four times this weekend and is recovering in hospital after a road rage incident. Despite taking most of the damage to his arm, the Perpignan native had to undergo bypass surgery when an artery was damaged.
Matthias, best known for shows of heart against fighters such as Mark Epstein and James Zikic, was involved in a road rage incident in his native Perpignan this weekend. While details are sketchy, it seems that after words were exchanged the other driver followed Matthias and attacked him, only to find himself knocked down by a right hand from the MMA and kickboxing fighter. The driver then went to his car to recover a kitchen knife with which he stabbed Matthias four times while Matthias sat in his car. Matthias managed to ward off the worst of the attacked but was stabbed multiple times in the arm cutting muscle and tendons aswell as damaging an artery. Matthias reportedly lost over two litres of blood and was near death but is now recovering in hospital. |
