Pride’s President Mr Sakakibara has spoken of creating a Super Heavyweight division. This move was made particularly after the Hidehiko Yoshida vs James Thompson fight, where Pride believes the large weight difference was decisive in the outcome. Sakaibara also believes that there are some particularly strong and technical guys in the Super Heavyweight class nowadays. The new “Monster” 125kg + division will begin probably as soon as Pride 33 and is likely to draw fighters from the WWE. “We’ve been flying around the world looking for soon to be known monsters" said Sakakibara. |
