WFA Over and Out?

World Fighting Alliance President and CEO Jeremy Lappen told MMAWeekly Radio that he will be suing the owners of the WFA for breach of contract. WFA CEO, Lappan will tell a California Court that the owners of the organisation have not paid him or some of their other contracted employees for some months now. The World Fighting Alliance was reborn back on July 22nd after a four year hiatus from Mixed Marital Arts promoting. The WFA had every intention of giving the UFC a run for its money. The WFA delivered a massive star studded card and the show’s organisers declared it a great success. WFA: King of the Streets 2 was then scheduled for December 9th and was set to feature the likes of Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, Matt Lindland, Heath Herring and Bas Rutten. However a few weeks back the show cancelled its December date and rescheduled the show for early 2007. However, this latest turn of events will mean that the World Fighting Alliance will soon be haemorrhaging key members of staff. They don’t have a date for their next show. Their headline fighters are in high demand, so with the WFA’s status in question they will be looking elsewhere. The WFA does not intend to go out of business, but without a big turn around, there may be no other option. |
