You have fought in some of the biggest organisations around the world and been very successful. Many people are surprised you never fought in the UFC. Were you ever approached by the organisation?

I was scheduled to be in the first TUF show but it conflicted with all of my work in Korea. So in the end the UFC and I decided that it was not the right time. The UFC is the reason I got into MMA so one day i would still like to fight there.

You’ve been undefeated in the PRIDE ring since you joined the organisation. You beat Takahiro Oba on your debut and following that Andrei Semenov, who you had previously drawn with in M-1. But your most impressive win was when you beat Murilo "Ninja" Rua, in only 1:15. Did you expect such a fast win against “Ninja” ?

Not at all. I was expecting a war for 15 minutes. I wanted to fight again after that because I trained so hard for it.

You’re next opponent in the Pride Bushido 2006 Welterweight GP will be Red Devil Gym member Amar Suloev. What do you know of him and his strengths?

I know a lot of him because I've watched him since he f ought in UFC and I was scheduled to fight him in Russia a few years back.  He's an experienced fighter with good kickboxing especially his footwork.

How’s your training going for this match with Suloev?

It's great, one thing about me is that I always come prepared. I love training hard as much as I love competing. I never really get lazy because I'm not very happy when I'm not training.

Do you do any pre-fight rituals to psych yourself up?

I wouldn’t call it a ritual but as the time of the fight gets closer I slowly become more and more focused. Right before walking out and in the ring I'm thinking of absolutely nothing else, I’m completely absorbed in the moment.

Is there any fighter that you would like to face or rematch after the Grand Prix?

Not really. I want to fight the best that's it.

Are there any last words you have for the MMA Universe readers?

It has a been a long journey for me to get where I am, I want to thank everybody for sticking with me so far, but also to keep watching me because I get better every fight.

We at MMAU wish you all the best in the Grand Prix

Thank You !!!!!!!!!!!
