First of all I would like to congratulate you on your Impressive win at UFC 70 against British fighter David Lee.
Thank you sir
Both you and David Lee were coming of loses on your debut with the UFC. How important was this victory?
This was a very important factor. I knew we both were coming with our A game.
What did you know of you opponent when you were preparing for him?
I knew he was a well skilled jiu-jitsu guy. However, I felt confident because I train with a strong stable (Knuckleup MMA).
How quickly did you adjust to the time difference such as jetlag?
I felt the time difference early in the trip but after 3 days my body adjusted.
You pretty much controlled the fight from the get-go. What would you say was your key to success in that fight?
After 7 weeks of hard training I was prepared both mentally and physically.
Are you disappointed you didn’t win the submission of the evening?
First of all let me congratulate Terry on winning the sub of the night. To answer your question, "NO", I was very happy with the generous bonus I received from the UFC.
How soon do you want to return to the Octagon?
As soon as the UFC needs me!
Was this the first time you’ve been to England? What did you think of England?
Yes, I enjoyed the culture very much. I was very surprised with the warm reception from the local crowd.
Can you tell us a little about yourself?
I started training Capoeira when I was 11, then started jiu-jitsu at 17, and my first MMA [Fight] at 22. I was able to really put every thing together when I came to work and train at Knuckleup MMA in Atlanta.
I am married with 2 beautiful kids (Matheus and Camilla). In addition to cooking and spending time at home, I also enjoy traveling abroad.
Who are your biggest Inspirations in life and in the sport of MMA?
Do you have any last words for MMA UNIVERSE readers?
Thanks for all the support and keep training hard!
We at MMAU wish you all the best!!!
Thank you
