Both fighters move straight forward. Myriem opens the fight with a right cross. The punch misses it's target and Myriem follows up with a left hook. Aisley evades and goes for the clinch. Myriem graps Aisley head, but gives her back. Aisley puts Myriem to the ground. Aisley loses the back doings so, but achieves to get full mount. Aisley locks Myriem against the side of the cage and starts a ground-and-pound offensive. The judge intervenes.
Ludo opens the fight as planned with a shoot. Ludo can takedown Emmet pretty easy and ends up in the half mount on the left side (right leg trapped). Ludo manages to trap Emmets left arm against the side of his head. Ludo starts freeing his leg and setting up slowly the kata-gatame (armtriangle-choke). Ludo seems to succeed, but suddenly the judge puts them back up in the middle. 'Not enough action' sounds the official reason... No problem, Ludo shoots again and takes Emmet down again. Ludo ends up in the same half mount position. A scramble follows and Emmet manages to get back up again. Ludo controls the head of Emmet in Thaiclinch but Emmet succees in liberating himself. Emmet takes Ludo down. Emmet ends up in half mount on top, Ludo is locked against the cage. Immediatelly after the takedown Ludo got a heavy punch of Emmet. Ludo doesn't defend anymore, but still gets a few heavy punches before the judge intervenes.
Bastien opens with a few light punches and manages to get the clinch. Both fighters find themselves in the 50-50-tieup. Bastien pushes his opponent to the fence and seems to be winning the clinch. Dave proofs strong however and pushes Bastien back to the other side of the cage.Bastien tries taking down Dave, but loses his balance and ends up in open guard on the bottom. Dave immediatelly starts a ground-and-pound offenisive. Bastien has difficulties for a short while, but moves nicely and manages to close the guard. Dave locks Bastien to the side of the cage and continues the ground and pound. Bastien finds himself in a tough position, but he keeps moving nicely and evades a lot of the punches. Bastien executes two nice triangle attempts, but Dave evades them by standing up. After the failed triangle attempts, Bastien moves to closed guard nicely. Dave continues pounding, but seems to exhaust himself doing so. Bastien makes a few nice hits of his own. Bastien is still locked to the cage, but out of the blue he catches Emmets right arm in a figure-four. Bastien finishes the fight with a nice kimura from closed guard.
Round 1:
Before the fight I couldn't find much about opponent. I only found two results of previous fights of Thomas. Cause of this I had a difficult time preparing for this fight. I read about him that he is a good boxer and ground-fighter, allround it seems. My strategy for a fight is usually more or less the same; take the fight to the ground as soon as possible. Because my opponent probably knew this, I wanted to take a different aproach this time and put some pressure standing up first. In the beginning of the fight I went straight forward. Thomas opened with a right low kick. The kick hit on my left upperleg, but my weight was on it and I went forward on the moment of impact so no damage done. Thomas moved away before I could hit the counter. Now it was my turn. I went forward again. I heard Thomas corner shout 'Wait as planned, till he goes for the shoot'. I thought 'let's surprise him' :) I kept going forward and Thomas went backward till the side of the cage. I give a right lowkick on my turn. It hit, but Thomas could catch my leg. I followed up with a right cross. Right on his eye, but he still had my leg and took me down.
I fell on my back and Thomas ended up in half mount to the left (I had his left leg trapped). Thomas started pounding and I had difficulties for a while. I manage to get my legs in front and ended up in open guard. Thomas stood up and threw a hard right overhead, right on my left eye. It hurt a lot.
I catch his left foot with my right hand, hook my left foot behind his right leg and sweep him by pushin with my right foot on his left hip. Thomas fell and I took the top. I go for the double underhook pass and almost got sidecontrol, but Thomas can turn out and I end up in half mount on the left. I tried to pass but fail.
Thomas moves well and manages to get up again. Once up he goes directly for the clinch and we end up in 50-50-tieup. My right arm is on top, my left arm on bottom. My head is to the right side. I step with my right leg behind his left foot and take him down. I almost pass, but Thomas moves well again and end up in closed guard.
I pull Thomas' head with my both hands (can-opener) and put him with his back against the cage. Thomas was stuck and I started pounding. I thought the hits were landing very well. Suddenly however the judge intervenes and he puts us back up. 'Not enough action' it sounds, in full ground-and-pound. I have my doubts but, oh well...
We are back in the middle of the cage. My eye hurt from the hit and I saw Thomas twice. Not easy to find standing up this way. I thought I couldn't go on anymore, but then I saw Thomas eye was swollen too. This gave me the courage to continue.
Thomas rushed in with punches. I countered with a jab right on his face. Thomas went backward. I fakete a jab, shoot and took him down.
I pass the guard and get kuzure-gesa-gatame. I start throwing light punches and wait for a mistake. The judges asks for more action and treatens to put us up. I make more space to hit harder, but I rush and Thomas manages to get closed guard again.
After some effort I manages to get half mount, but Thomas moves to open guard straight away. I stand up. Thomas puts his leg through and starts going for an ankle-lock. I try twisting out, but my leg gets stuck halfway. I turn my belly to the ground and start attacking his foot. I get figure-four on his left foot and start applying the lock. Thomas tries doing the same but I don't feel any danger. I put more pressure on the foot. Thomas releases my foot, twists out and takes the top. Thomas starts pounding, I spin to turtle-guard. Thomas punches very hard, it hurts. I think about quiting, but suddenly I see his leg. I grab it and go for the single leg takedown. I take the top and end up in closed guard. I land some more punches and the bell rings. End of round 1.
Round 2:
I was really tired. The first round had taken a heavy toll. On top of that I had double vision.
The bell goes. I rush straight forward and Thomas goes back. I shoot and take him down.
I end up in half mount to the left and manage to trap his right arm and head. I start liberating my leg and applying the kata-gatame (armtriangle). I nearly succeed, but the judge intervenes again... more action! In the middle of a submission attempt! I rush and make a mistake. I lose the arm but the manage to mount. I start pounding.
Thomas escapes nicely and manages to trap my fight foot between his legs. My right knee is still on the ground. Thomas turns out too far and I can take his back. I got backguard and am on bottom. I go for the mata leao, put Thomas starts walking up the cage with his both foot. By doing this he falls next to me and I lose the back. I get mount again. I hit a few times but Thomas escapes again. He traps my foot and starts going for the same heelhold as in round 1. I twist out but end up on bottom. Thomas starts pounding, but I get the closed guard. I manage to keep him close and start walking my right leg up. I get the rubber guard. Thomas hit me a few times with right. I decide not to cover and hold the rubber guard. Suddenly I hear Thomas corner say 'wait and then explode out'. Thomas jumps up and slips out of my rubber guard.
He starts pounding. I get up and go for the single leg again on his right leg. Thomas goes for the guillotine (with his leftarm under) and he twist his right leg out of my legs. Thomas jumps closed guard. I still stand. The guillotine doesn't choke me completely, but the pressure starts building up. I turn to the ground to release the pressure. Thomas gets the top and starts pounding again. I go to turtle guard again, grab his leg and go for the single leg again. The takedown succeeds. I end up in closed guard and start pounding myself.
The bell rings. End of round 2.
Round 3:
I felt really empty, very tired. I never had to go so deep conditionelly before. One final round to go...
My view was better now. Thomas starts the same as in round 2, a punch-rush. I step backward and counter with the same jab. It lands. Thomas staps backward. I do a body-shoot and push Thomas with his back to the cage. I get double underhooks and keep pushing.
Catching my breath. This seems a mistake cause Thomas manages to get his right hand inside and we end up in 50-50-tieup.
Thomas throws a hard punch to my left side. This really hurted. I knew straight away it would still hurt the day after. Thomas manages to get his second hand inside. Thomas get double underhooks and takes me down. During the scramble that follows I can catch his leg again. I take him down with the single leg again. I take the double underhooks and hold him for a while. I try to pass his guard to the left. I find myself with my left side next to the cage. I don't have a lot of space. This in combination with Thomas pushing me, make that I can't pass.
I stand up and find myself on his right side, next to the cage. My left foot has passed, my right foot is still trapped between his legs. He put my left knee to his belly and start punching. I land a few good hits and Thomas hip-escapes away from the cage. I got more space. I get sidecontrol and next northandsouth. I pound and manage to grab his left arm in 50-50-tieup. The sweat makes us slippery and the arm slips out. I take sidecontrol again and work for the kuzure-gesa-gatame. I hear my corner shout '40 seconds to go, give it all'. I start pounding like my live depends on it. Thomas gets closed guard for a second but I pass again and end the fight in sidecontrol. The bell sounds. End of round 3 and end of my heaviest fight until now.
