Tapia takes Banuelos down, but Banuelos sweeps and gets side control. Banuelos lands solid shots to end the round.

LARRY'S SCORECARD: A really well contested round, Banuelos landed good shots and had good counters and I'll give him the round 10-9.

ROUND TWO: Round two begins and they circle a bit, jabs by Banuelos. They trade shots and Tapia rocks Banuelos and he is down! Tapia has the back/side and lands some rights. Banuelos is giving up the back easily, but Tapia hasn't done anything. They stand, spinning elbow by Banuelos but Banuelos is bleeding slightly from the nose. LARRY'S SCORECARD: Another good round. Tapia has had chances when he has had the back but isn't doing anything. Banuelos is landing more and controlling overall and he'll take round two 10-9 and is up on my card 20-18.

ROUND THREE: Final round begins and they circle as they have the first two rounds. They trade shots, a string right by Tapia by Banuelos take shim down and has his back. He has one hook in, lands some soft lefts and then almost had the choke. Tapia works to stand, knees by Banuelos and he keeps the back but loses the hook. Tapia sits out, Banuelos continues to hold on but Tapia escapes. To the feet they go and Tapia stalks him. A sidekick connects by Banuelos, he shoots and almost gets the takedown. They clinch and go to the cage. They break and Tapia backs him up, but doesn't do much. Banuelos shoots, but Tapia brushes him off. They trade some light shots, and then both hit a left. They trade again, no real control right now. They both trade some combos, but not much damage. Banuelos throws a high kick but it is blocked. They clinch and break, Banuelos misses a spin kick as the round ends.

LARRY'S SCORECARD: Banuelos got the big takedown in the round and continued to play great defense while racking up good shots when he did have the control. I think he takes the round 10-9 and the fight 30-27. Mir disagrees I believe.

The Result: SPLIT DRAW (30-27 Tapia, 29-28 Banuelos, 28-28 DRAW)

WAIT…SCORING ISSUE! The Athletic Commission says the last score was actually 29-28 for Tapia, so he wins by Majority Decision.
