Hallman got a guillotine right away. Metcalf tried to slam out, but did escape. Hallman went to a front headlock and they are against the cage. Three knees to the body by Hallman. Hallman went for a takedown, Metcalf on top but Hallman got a heel hook submission in 1:39.

Drumm with a takedown off a kick. Esguerra tried a guillotine and now Drumm got away and tried one of his own. Drumm going for a Kimura. Got up and Esquerra was swinging until caught in a clinch. Trading knees till the end of the round. Very slight edge to Esguerra 10-9.

Drumm got his back and was going for a choke. Esguerra turned over on top but caught in the guard. He's punching. Got Drumm's back. Drumm with a cool escape. Esguerra hit a solid punch and a few more punches on the ground. Trading. Esguerra on top. Cecil Peoples called a foul for Esguerra hitting behind the head so we have a point deduction. Crowd likes Esguerra so not happy. Match was called off at 2:35 of the round. Should be a no contest. It was called a technical draw. They can't go to the cards unless it completed two rounds, but even so, Esguerra should have been ahead and you shouldn't be able to win when you are the one who committed a foul that ended the fight.

Crispin is a Brazilian who moved to San Francisco to train under Ralph Gracie. Slow first round. Standing, circling and missed punches for the most part. Crowd is starting to boo. Then they traded. Crispin got a takedown and is on top in the guard. He's doing some body punches. Crispin in side control. A few punches as the round ended. 10-9 Crispin.

Very little happened this round. Crispin was on top in the guard but threw no blows for the frist 4:00. Finally in the last minute he punched a little. I guess he takes the round by default given Colonel did nothing. 10-9 Crispin.

Not much happening again. Dancing and no fighting. Lots of swingign and missing. Takedown attempt failed by Crispin. Crispin going backwards. Crispin with a front kick and dancing backwards. Colonel connected with a knee. They ended up on the ground, and, you guessed it. They did nothing. Close round. Probably should be 10-10 but if you had to pick, Crispin. Either way he should get a 30-28 or 30-27 decision. Scores ended 30-27, 29-28 and 29-28 for Crispin.

Figueroa got a huge reaction. He's a Cung Le student and this is a complete Cung Le crowd. Sabala threw him down. Fiugueora busier from the bottom. Great fight. Figueroa with a bodyslam and followed with punches. Fugiera stuffed a takedown and hit a punch. Fugieora knocked him down with a punch. Lots of body punches from behind. Sabala back with a freaking Oklahoma Stampede and a DDT, followed by a by a guillotone, I kid you not and the crowd screamed DDT when he did it. Time ran out as Sabala held the hold. Very close, Figueroa gets the round with the knockdown 10-9

Figueroa put him down again. Sabala grabbed a guillotine from his back but Figueroa got out. Sabala with an overhead slam. Sabala 10-9, but it's close. We may be even going into the third.

Crowd very into this one. Figueroa hit a good punch and took him down and is punching from the back. Sabala reversed on the round. Figueroa back up. Punches and knees by Figueora while Sabala is down. Sabala got a guillotine attempt. Figueroa out in side control. Both tired, 40 seconds left. Sabala danced around at the end avoiding contact. Figueroa's round. Second is close, but I have it 29-28. Can see 30-27.

30-27 Figueroa, 29-28 Sabala, Cecil Peoples decides it which is always scary. He scored it 29-28 Figueroa. He got it right.

Lawson with a takedown right away. Neal trying for a triangle. Lawson tried to slam his way out but no dice. Lawson threw punches whole Neal tried to hold on . He had the triangle almost the entire round but couldn't put Lawson away. Neal gets the round 10-9.

Lawson dropped Neal with a straight right. He's got his back and choked him out in 0:20.

Jorge Santiago vs Sean Salmon opens the main card in a tournament match.

Flying right knee by Santiago knocked Salmon out, although he followed with a hard right on the ground before Cecil Peoples dove (and I mean dove) in to stop it in 0:24. In a tournament, that means Santiago comes out with zero damage and basically will be fresh for the finals. Huge advantage. Salmon is still down. He's going out on a stretcher. He tried to stand up but was more than just unsteady.

Salmon had what is believed to have been a seizure in the ring. He is okay now but they have taken him to the Valley Medical Center trauma center. Armando Garcia of the CSAC said that the doctors will decide, but said there is a chance they wouldn't sanction him to fight again.

Prangley tired a hip toss but Vitale scrambled to his feet. Prangely bulled him into the cage. Prangley with a knee to body. Hard knee by Prangley. Prangley has a bloody nose. Ref kept resgtartgihn them as it slowed agrainst the cage. Prangley back with punches hard knees from Thai clinch by Prangley. Vitale back with punches. Good shot by Vitale. Prangley can't take him down. Close round for Prangley, 10-9.

Prangley seems more tired. Punches and knees by Prangley as he pinned him against the cage. Ref restarted them. Vitale throwing punches. Body shots by Prangley. Hard knee to the head by Prangley. Body and head shots and a knee by Prangley. Vitale poked in the eye. It's over. Prangley would have to advanced it would seem. The judges decision was a majority draw, so Vitale probably won the first. The referee had to make a decision and he chose Prangley.

Here's how it went down. Doc Hamilton and Cecil Peoples scored it 19-19, Vitale the first and Prangley the second. Dan Stell scored it 20-18 Vitale. As a majority draw, by the California tournament rules, the referee, Marcos Rosales then picks the winner and he picked Prangley. It's offically a win for Prangley and he advances. Vitale caught an accidental finger in the eye that caused temporary blindness.

Two hard knees to the chin standing by Stewart and it was over in 19 seconds. There was a third knee on the ground to the head that looked to be illegal. Anyway, the official ruling is the third illegal knee came after Cecil Peoples had decided to wave it off. As far as that goes, the second knee was the knockout blow and it was legal. But Stewart threw a pretty flagrant illegal knee before Peoples stopped him.

Southworth got cheered. Not big cheers, but cheered so he's finally lived down season one of Ultimate Fighter.

Southworth dropped him with a punch and is on top. He got a full mount. Ruiz turned his back and Southworth is going for a choke. Ruiz is defending well so far. Ruiz turned and is now on top. Southworth back up. Ruiz threw a wicked forearm to the side of the head. Ruiz going for a takedown. Southworth blocked it. Southworth got a takedown with one minute left. Southworth throwing some punches to the head. A few to the body. Very close round to Southworth 10-9.

Ruiz rocked him with four solid punches and then took him down. They brought Southworth to the doctor, who checked the cut on the left eyelid. The doctor suggested to ref Marcos Rosales to stop the fight, which he did at 0:54. Those four punches would have knocked most people silly.

Schwartz with nice side kicks. But Davis took him right down. Schwartz is holding on looking for a stand-up. Davis throwing body blows on the ground. Fans want a stand-up but Davis is staying busy. Finally a standup, but Davis bulled him into the cage and it stayed there with some body blows by Davis so he won the round 10-9.

Davis bulled Schwartz into the corner. Schwartz is bleeding from the forehead. Davsi bulled him into the fence again. Schwartz came back with hard knees to the thigh, but one caught the groin. Davis took the round and should be up 20-18.

Schwartz connected but Davis got it to the ground and is holding a guillotine. Schwartz broke free from the guillotine and was on top. Schwartz was throwing body blows on the ground. He threw a knee right as time ran out. Probably enough for Schwartz to take round three, but not the fight. He still got a standing ovation by about 15-20% of the crowd. I'd call it 29-28 for Davis.

29-28 across the board for Davis. Crowd booed the decision but that's only because there were so many Schwartz fans in the house as it was pretty clear Davis dominated.

Salmon's CT scan was negative. No bleeding of the brain and no skull fracture.

Overeem took him right down. Buentello escaped the guillotine. Overeem nailing him with knees to the head standing. Bunentello is finally to his feet. Overeem connecting with lots of close lefts to the head. Overeem took Buentello down agian. He's going for his guillotine but Buentello is scrambling away. Knee to the body by Overeem. Buentello is bleeding from the right eye.

Overeem with hard knees to the body. Buentello just got worked over bad. Question is if Overeem gasses. Maybe 10-8 for Overeem. All 3 judges had it 10-8 by the way.

Trading stading. Buentello with two good uppercuts. Overeem took him down again. Ovedrfeeem with some ground and pound. Ref ordered a sandup. Overeem took him down again. Overeem trying again for the guillotine. Buentello up but Overeem dropped him with hard knees to the body and must have hurt him bad because Buentello tapped out at 3:42 of the second round.

Santiago comes in with a huge advantage as he wasn't taxed nor took any punishment in his first fight. Santiago clocked him with an overhand right and made Prangley stumble with a low kick. Both failed at taking the other down, and Santiago scored with a knee to the body, followed by a knee to the chin from a Muay Thai clinch that was the telling blow. Two more punches on the ground and John Schorle called it off at 2:31 making Santiago the tournament champion.

Le with a side kick. In a clinch. Le took him down. Came back up. Hard knee and a punch by Le. Morgan has him on the ground. Tried a triangle. Le powered out. Morgan came in with some punches. Lee took him down and threw a knee. Crazy fight. Le knocked him on his ass with a body kick. Le with another body kick. Spin kick missed. Le took him down with a hip toss agian. Le let him up. Morgan swinging like crazy and Le put him down again with a body kick. Another takedown by Le. Le doesn't seem to have any finishing skill on the ground. He let him up again. Le is tiring. Another kick to the head by Le. Morgan tried a takedown. Can't get it. Le took him down again. Le took him down again and let him up. Le is exhuasted but he easily won the round.

Both guys are dying. Morgan swinging for the fences. Le with a punch to counter. Le took him down with another hip toss. I think at this point he's content to hold him down. He let him up again. Morgan keeps missing puncdhes. He's going for a takedown but Le has strong balance. In a clinch. Morgan with knees and Le with body punches. Anoither takedown by Le. Got a full mount. Morgan turned his back. Le let hin mup. Le took him down again. Le punching from the top. Le punching on the ground. Le went for an entangled armlock and straight armbar. Le easily won the round.

Le with a body kick. Le countered with a stright right and knocked Morgan down again. Morgan with a good knee. Le with a spin kick to the body and more punches. Morgan back with a punch to counter. Le with a kick to the liver and Morgan collapsed immediately and Josh Rosenthal stopped it after two punches on the ground at 1:58.

Cung Le called Frank Shamrock out. Cung Le said it's about putting the fans in the seats and entertaining the crowd. Frank said this house is only big enough for one of us and Frank accepted the challenge. Frank then closed the interview saying, "the winner of the main event, and San Jose's second best MMA fighter, Cung Le:" There was a definite buzz in the crowd while this was going on. Frank knew his role perfectly playing the subtle heel.
