International Fight League: Los Angeles
Event Title: International Fight League: Los Angeles
Event Date: 17 March 2007
Event Venue: The Forum
Event Location: Los Angeles
Date submitted: 19 March 2007
Submitted by: Gary Herman and Erik Sommers for 15 rounds
The Los Angeles Anacondas defeated the San Jose Razorclaws by a score of 5-0, and the Tokyo Sabres beat the Southern California Condors by a 3 - 2 margin. Both teams are undefeated at 2-0.

Earlier in the week, the Anacondas announced that Shawn Tompkins would take over the coaching duties from Bas Rutten. Rutten moved into the position of lead color commentator as well as good-will ambassador for the company.

The change in coaching did not affect the Anacondas on the mat as they swept the Frank Shamrock coached Razorclaws.

Attendance for the event at Los Angeles Forum (former home of the LA Lakers) was estimated at just over 4,000 fans.

Among the crowd watching the fights were Dan Henderson, Royce Gracie, Josh Barnett, Joe Rogan, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, BJ Penn, Kevin Randleman, Kendall Grove, and Tyson Griffin.

Match by match results:

Alex Schoenauer (formerly of the UFC Ultimate Fighter series) defeated Brian Ebersole by split decision. Judges scores were 29-28, 29-28, and 28-29. Ebsersole did his best to entertain the crowd. At one point, Ebersole attempted a cartwheel kick that nearly connected but still excited the crowd. Anacondas 1 Razorclaws 0.

Benji Radach defeated Brian Foster with a guillotine choke in the first period. Anacondas 2 Razorclaws 0.

Chris Horodecki beat Josh Odom by unanimous decision. All three judges scored the fight 30-27. Horodecki remains undefeated in MMA career at 9-0. Anacondas 3 Razorclaws 0.

Jay Hieron secured a TKO victory over Donnie Liles when Liles passed out from a guillotine chokehold. Anacondas 4 Razorclaws 0.

Krzysztof Soszynski defeated Dan Christison by decision. The three judges all had the fight 30-27. Anacondas 5 Razorclaws 0.

Sabres 3 – Condors 2

Savant Young knocked out Adam Lynn at the start of the second round to give the Sabres a 1-0 lead.

Antonio McKee beat Rodrigo Ruas by unanimous decision. The judges scored the fight 30-2. Mckee used his wrestling technique to keep Ruas at bay for the full three periods. Sabres 2 Condors 0.

Jeremy Williams was victorious over Kazuhiro Hamanaka by TKO victory in the first period. Williams quickly locked in a triangle choke to secure the victory. Sabres 2 Condors 1.

Vladimir Matyushenko defeated Justin Levens by KO in round one. Matyushenko got Levens to the mat and began to unload in the “ground and pound” position when the referee stepped in to stop the fight. Sabres 3 Condors 1.

Antoine Jaoude knocked out Wayne Cole in the second round. Jaoude connected with a vicious right hand to score the victory. Sabres 3 Condors 2.
