After a long layoff because of an injured hand, Pride heavyweight champion and the fighter many regard as the best in the world, Fedor Emelianenko, looked as sharp and as dangerous as ever easily submitting “The Hammer” Mark Coleman at 1:15 of round 2.
Coleman did show plenty of heart going for the takedown as soon as the opening bell rang but Fedor was able to stay up and began pounding on Coleman’s face. Coleman then nixed the takedown plan and attempted to exchange with the Russian but it proved to be a big mistake as he was soon rocked and bloodied by the champion. In the second round, Coleman again went for the takedown and finally got it and soon looked to take advantage and administer some ground and pound. But just as he did in their first fight Fedor proved dangerous from his guard and was able to lock in the arm bar that sealed Coleman’s fate.

Mauricio "Shogun" Rua submitted the ultra aggressive Kevin "The Monster" Randleman with a knee bar at 2:35 of round 1. It seemed Randleman was going to let his leg sustain damage before tapping out as he grimaced through the pain and ignored the referee when he asked “do you give up?” Randleman nearly escaped but Rua then adjusted his position, tucking the leg underneath his own armpit and extending the leg completely and “The Monster” finally tapped.

Josh Barnett struggled against Pawel Nastula but managed to get an ankle lock and submit the Polish Judo Olympic Gold medallist at 3:04 of round 2.

The first round was a battle for position from the clinch between the catch wrestler and the Judo Olympian, and the second started the same until Nastula was finally able to get Barnett on his back. Barnett, however, just fell into his element and immediately reversed position and grabbed a hold of Nastula’s ankle. “I started off slow but I gave you guys an ankle lock,” said Barnett to the crowd afterwards, adding, “It’s something you don’t see that often.”

Butterbean did what he always does and knocked out Mark Hunt’s replacement opponent, Sean O’Haire with just :29 seconds expired in the first round. O’Haire came out throwing high kicks but to no avail as Butterbean simply landed three rights from close quarters and sent O’Haire down for good.

In the only fight to go to a decision, Dan "Hollywood" Henderson rebounded from his loss in the Bushido tournament by outlasting “The Phenom” Vitor Belfort to earn a unanimous decision by the scores of 30-27 twice and 30-26. Henderson, who was limited during his training for this fight because of various injuries, didn’t do too much damage to Belfort , but just simply outworked him to get the nod from the judges.

“The New York Bas Ass” Phil Baroni finished off former WBO cruiserweight champion Yosuke Nishijima with a key lock at 3:20 of round one. Baroni, who usually likes to slug it out, instead went for the takedown immediately so as not to have to box the boxer, and the plan worked to perfection as he was able to control the fight from the top position getting off some ground and pound before submitting Nishijima. Afterwards not even Baroni knew what he did as he asked “What the hell is the name of the move? Whatever it is, it worked.”
Kazuhiro Nakamura dropped Travis Galbraith with a flying knee and finished him off with strikes to the head with 16 seconds gone in round 2.

“Ruthless” Robbie Lawler made short work of East Los Angeles native Joey Villasenor also dropping him with a flying knee just 13 seconds into the first round.
