I'm not sure if I agree with Willie Nelson's lyrics "I can't wait to get on the road again," because I can!!!
I have been travelling domestically since 1972. First I travelled with Mom and Dad. then with older brother Dave. He was the pilot and I was the co-pilot (map reader, since I didn't have a driver's license). Then I would travel with various other individuals pending on the event I was heading to. For about the past decade I have travelled by myself (most of the time) to MMA events, appearances, autograph signings, amateur wrestling shows, Law Enforcement Training, pro wrestling shows, etc. As a matter of fact, (as I was writing this) I am sitting in the Cincinnati, Ohio airport food court waiting for my next flight. I'm on my way back from pitching my Danger Zone Cage Fighting Company to a group for a series of shows over the course of each year. I won't go into it much more then that for now until I can officially let the cat out of the bag. Due to some weather conditions in Chicago I was rerouted around a bit and will not get home until much later in the evening only to turn around, switch out some clothes and head to New Orleans. My function there will be to conduct an MMA seminar in the afternoon, go to an MMA event that evening for an appearance and autograph signing and then on to the post fight party for yet another appearance before retiring for the evening. It might sound like a glamorous lifestyle, but it does get old after a while. You know your travelling too much when you first wake-up in the morning and you have to look at your daily planner to know where you are at and what your function today is!! While on the road, I ended up watching a good movie called "Pay It Forward." As I stated in a previous letter, I am not a big fan of the ole boob tube but this DVD was recommended to me from a meeting I had two days previous, so decided to watch it. Through the course of this meeting I had mentioned that I was in the movie "Rudy" and what an inspirational movie it was. I had mentioned that I enjoyed movies like this and that's when it was mentioned to watch "Pay It Forward." The movies message was that too many people stand around (or sit) and do not engage life. Don't let life happen to you. make life happen. Get the most out of each day. (My message) eat things that are good for you and do some exercise. This will also spark the positive side of life.
